A Shropshire farmer used the 6m SuperMaxx to incorporate chopped oat straw. The land had a significant black grass problem. Without wanting to use the plough, the SuperMaxx was set to a hallow position and worked over the land.
Photographs show the land after a single pass. Photographs also show results after a second pass but this was only for the benefit of the camera and to achieve the shown results, the field was only cultivated once.
After 6 weeks the volunteers and blackgrass had germinated and established as a crop. This enabled the farmer to choose whether to spray off or recultivate again.
